Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity helps build community pride with our three home preservation services: A Brush with Kindness, Critical Home Repair and Weatherization. Low-income homeowners who occupy their houses are eligible to apply for home repairs and renovations that fit within their budget.
The success of Habitat’s home preservation programs is dependent upon the generosity of our community through volunteering and financial support, as well as the willingness of the families to reach for a “hand up”.
WHAT WORK DO WE DO?
Home preservation helps with interior and exterior repairs, as well as weatherization. Although volunteer labor is offered free of charge, homeowners are responsible to repay the material costs of the repair. Home preservation applications are accepted year round and work is completed in any season, weather permitting.
